I came across an interesting article that basically explains how fashion can impact earning potential. 

Who would think that carrying a designer bag can help land you a job with a higher salary and receive better job recommendations?  According to social psychologists, Rob Nelissen and Marijn Meijers, from Tilburg University in the Netherlands, designer labels really do affect how people are perceived.
